Hannover, Germany. With momentum into the second half of 2024With the start of the IAA Transportation on September 16, Deutsche Messe AG is ringing in the second half of the year at the exhibition grounds in Hanover. Followed by EuroBLECH (October 22-25), EuroTier (November 12-15) and "Gamevasion" powered by DreamHack (December 5-8), a total of eight guest events will be held at the Hannover Exhibition Center in the second half of the year. In addition, Deutsche Messe will also be hosting its own events infa (October 12-20) and Passion Horse (formerly Pferd & Jagd, December 5-8).
"We are taking the momentum from the events of the first half of the year with us and are starting the second half of the year full of energy," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG. Around 230,000 visitors and 5,700 exhibiting companies attended the five in-house trade fairs held at the Hannover Exhibition Center in the first half of the year. In addition, 14 guest events such as hagebau WOM (the annual Christmas order fair organized by hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG) and the AC/DC concerts were held at the exhibition grounds. "We are delighted that the first half of the year went so well and that we were able to welcome great guest events to complement our own trade fairs," explains Köckler.
AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, can also confirm this impression. The first half of 2024 was extraordinarily successful for trade fairs in Germany, as initial AUMA surveys show: Compared to the same period last year, the 188 trade fairs between January and June already attracted 120,000 exhibiting companies (+7 percent) and 6.7 million visitors (+1 percent). Meanwhile, the exhibition space on the exhibition grounds increased by 7 percent to 4.2 million square meters.
